What are solvent dyes and aniline dyes?

Solvent dyes are non-polar in nature and it creates a solution when dissolved in organic solvents. The chemicals that can easily dissolve in other chemicals to form a solution are called solvents. They do not ionize easily. Hence they do not dissolve in water. Aniline dyes are synthetic organic compound that is altered by another substance. They are used to color fabric, leather and wood. They come in variety of colors and are largely used in leather and wood working industries. Aniline dyes are available in the form of powder which can be dissolved in water, alcohol and oil.
