What are the differences between Multitasking and Multiprocessing?

Multitasking is assigning more than one program to the CPU or switching between several programs at the same time. It is referred as having multiple programs, processes, tasks or threads running at the same time. Multiprocessing is executing multiple programs at the same time. In multiprocessing operating system a task is divided between more than one processor so that parallelism can be achieved.
